Setting
The setting is in the neighborhood lot, at the corner of Sycamore Street and Emerson Avenue

Characters
The characters are Luz, Lorenzo, Rosie, Mami, and Papi. The additional characters are Lito, and Shrimp. We do not know Shrimps real name it doesn't say the real name in the book, West Side Kids .

Main Events
The main events are working at the garden trying to clean up all the trash there so that they can start making the dream garden.

Problems
The first problem is that after they were done cleaning the garden, someone came to the lot, jumped over the fence, and trashed it! The lot became worse then how it was before they started cleaning it!
The second problem is that Rosie asked Luz to go to the movies. Luz said yes, and it was the same day that they were going to start the garden.

Solutions
The first solution is they spend all night trying to clean up the mess and other people helped Luz to clean it up.
Rosie takes some one else to the movies, Luz makes the dream garden, and they feel bad for each other because the got mad at each others’ actions.

Favorite Parts
My favorite part is when Rosie and Luz became friends again (Melissa M.)
My favorite part is when they finished the garden and when Rosie and Luz were friends again (Anissa)
