It is important for you to begin developing your professional identity online and networking with individuals in your industry as you begin pursuing internships and jobs. Beyond the profile and connections, you should begin exploring the different components LinkedIn has to offer, as we discussed in class (Jobs, Groups, etc.). For this assignment, you will be setting up a LinkedIn profile taking the concepts from my presentation in class and meeting the requirements below. o Professional Photo o Headline o Location & Industry o Contact Info (E-mail, Twitter) o Summary/Bio (Example) o Education o Experience o Honors & Awards (if applicable) o Organizations (if applicable) o Personal Information o You do NOT have to provide any personal information you do not feel comfortable providing – I do not provide any of it, because I do not want all of that information out there o Customize your Profile URL (Learn How) o Begin building connections with current students, alumni, past employers/co-workers (minimum 10) o Connect with Chris Lovett – you can search for my name and it will find me o When you add me, that indicates your profile is ready to be graded o If you have already added me in the past, I will assume your profile is up-to-date by the deadline
