    • July 2012, Volume 3, Issue 7 BENTLY NEVADA™ SYSTEM 1® TIPS & TRICKSDear System 1® User,In this issue of System 1 Tips and Tricks, we’ll explain how to add an Asynchronous Waveform to a point or points thatdo not have a Keyphasor associated with it. Adding an Asynchronous Waveform will allow you to view Asynchronousdata for a vibration point.We hope you enjoy this issue!Sincerely,Your North America FAE teamThis month’s tip by: Stuart Rochon, Field Application Engineer, Chester, SCVersions: User Level:All Power User Diagnostic UserApplies to: IT GroupSystem 1 Plots / Tools Mid Level User Occasional User New User Creating a Simulated Keyphasor® in System 11 Before assigning asynchronous waveforms, you will need to make sure you have sufficient Dynamic licenses available in System 1. To do this, follow these steps; In System 1 Display click “Tools” → “License Statistics” to display the “Licensing Statistics Tool”. Verify you have licenses available for the point(s) you want to configure for asynchronous waveform data. Make sure you verify available licenses for the correct Communications Processor.
    • 2 After confirming that you have the proper licenses, you will need to make sure that no real Keyphasor is associated with the channels you plan to assign asynchronous waveforms to. If you’re not certain, you can check this using the 3500 rack configuration software. Open the rack configuration for the rack that contains the data points you want to add and left click on the monitor(s) you need to verify. Left Click3 Make sure that the “No Keyphasor” box is checked for each channel pair you want to assign asynchronous waveforms to. IF any changes are made save the configuration to a place where it can be transferred to the System 1 server and download the new configuration to the rack. DO NOT DO THE DOWNLOAD TO THE RACK WHILE THE UNIT IS RUNNING!!!
    • 4 Next we need to open “System 1 Configuration” and connect to the enterprise. If you created a desktop shortcut, you can use it to start Configuration.5 Choose your enterprise. Or
    • 6 We need to switch to the collection group layout. I like to use the navigation buttons at the top, but you can also use “View” → “Collection Group Hierarchy” Or7 Your screen should now look like this.
    • 8 Expand the left pane and the right bottom pane to expose the points we want to add waveform data to.9 In the right bottom window, navigate to the point(s) you want to add waveform data to, right click on the point(s) and choose “Properties” to show the properties for that channel.
    • 1 The properties window.01 Choose the waveforms tab at the top right. Here you confirm that the channel is not set up to collect1 Dynamic Data.
    • 1 Select one of the Collection groups in the left pane that does not have a plus sign to the left of it, until2 we find the one that highlights the TDI card on the rack we want to work with.1 Right click on that Collection group and choose “Properties”.3
    • 1 Type a descriptive name in the “User Name” box.41 Click “OK”, and you’ll see the newly named group in the list in the left pane.5
    • 1 To add the points to the newly created collection group, left click on one point (or select more using the6 Microsoft “Shift” or “Ctrl” shortcuts) and hold and drag the point(s) to the new collection group.1 Now, if you right click on one of the points you placed in the collection group and select “Properties” and7 open the “Waveform” tab as you did earlier, you’ll see that you now have Asynchronous Waveforms available to configure.
    • 1 Configure each channel to the required specifications and don’t forget save the Configuration. You8 will now be collecting Asynchronous waveform data.
