2. 2. Matthew 13:45-46

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man , seeking goodly pearls:

46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price , went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

 3. 3. Mark 10:17-22

17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him , and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is , God.

 4. 4.

19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

 5. 5.

21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him , and said unto him, One thing thou lackest : go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor , and thou shalt have treasure in heaven : and come, take up the cross , and follow me.

22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved : for he had great possessions.

 6. 6. James 2:5

5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith , and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

 7. 7. 1 Peter 1:18-19

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

 8. 8. Philippians 2:12

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

 9. 9. Birthright

Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

 10. 10. What promise?

Gen 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee , and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

 11. 11. Titus 3:5-7

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

 12. 12. Hebrews 12:16-17

16 Lest there be any fornicator , or profane person , as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright .

17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance , though he sought it carefully with tears.

 13. 13. Genesis 25:29-34

29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:

30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me , I pray thee, with that same red pottage ; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

 14. 14.

31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

 15. 15.

33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him : and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

 16. 16. Genesis 27:34-35

34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry , and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.

35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.

 17. 17. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2

1 We then, as workers together with him , beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
