Settling in Kenosha • The Potawatomi - fished on the Pike River and Lake Michigan • Their name for the fish(pike) they caught – “Kenozia” • John Bullen arrived in 1835 with a group from NY - looking for „elbow room‟ • The Name – Kenosha was born • Pioneers found 2 Features that were highly desired: 1.
