  • PATRIOTISM
  • FACTS Writing down your negative thoughts and tossing them in the garbage can actually help to erase your bad mood. You still smell things while you sleep. There is a “Hug Me Coca Cola” machine in Singapore which gives you a can of coke each time you hug it.
  •  The most effective way to study is 30 minutes at a time, taking 10 minutes breaks throughout each session. Humans dream 23-25 times a night. Ten minutes after you woke up , you’ll forget 90 % of your dreams.
  • THE GIFT AND THE GIVER
  • Once, a poor farmer found a beautiful apple tree growing in his field. Its apples were so large and shiny and well-formed that the farmer cried out with joy when he saw it . He show it to his wife and children. They were all amazed.
  • The farmer gave the apple to his daughter. “This is the only thing I have ever seen that is as beautiful as you are. Take it and eat my dear child” The daughter rejected it and said “It is worthy of a king.”
  • “Such a fruit is worthy of a king. I will take it to the king” the farmer said. It is the only gift that a poor farmer can give. Then he went to the king’s palace.
  • The farmer removed the cloth and offer it to the king as his gift to the highness. The king was greatly moved by the unselfish farmer’s simple love. “What would you have from me in return.?Name it and its yours.
  • The farmer was astonished. “I want nothing but permission to see the joy in your face when you look at the apple.” The king was astonished with the apple and called everyone to see it. While admiring, the king notice that the farmer was gone.
  • “Ride after him . Take my best horse and give it to him. Tell him the horse is from a grateful king, who has learned a new lesson.” The farmer walking along the road was very happy with the unexpected gift.
  • A rich merchant of the town heard the story of the king’s gift, and he began to plot and plan. The rich merchant gave a fine horse. “Thank you very much “ said the king.
  • The merchant is expecting a great gift from the king. The king gave something wrapped in rich cloth. “ Take this apple, I was grateful to receive such gift. I treasure it more highly than jewels. It was given by a man who expected nothing in exchange.
  • The merchant open the cloth and it was an apple. He strode out of the palace. And threw away the beautiful fruit. The king didn’t approved of that. He said “
  • “That gift is only as good as the heart of the giver. A man should give without expecting a gift in return. Any other gift is worthless.”
  • Name the character in the story. Describe each character. Among the characters, who possesses a good heart? What is the most striking character of the farmer?
  • Why did the farmer’s daughter did not eat the apple? Why did the farmer think of giving the apple to the king? How did the king feel when the farmer gave the apple to him?
  • Why did the merchant give a horse to the king? Why did the king feel anger towards the merchant? If you were the king, would you do the same thing? Why? Who among the characters would you want to imitate? Why?
  • Do you love your country? In what ways you show your love for your country?
  • PATRIOTISM  zealous love of one’s country. It has something to do with the citizenship. Doing great things for one’s country Sacrificing a lot for a greater cause It means fighting for the interest of the common good.
  • CITIZEN  enjoys all the freedom and privileges of his nation. They may be called to serve in the armed forces of the government. They are responsible for the defense of their country. They have the right to vote, they also hve the duty to be informed.
  •  helping organizations which take care of the people during the terrors of war. It is the duty of young and old to share in the work of his organization. Citizens have the duty to share in the civil defense.
  • ECONOMIC CITIZENSHIP is sharing of responsibility for the economic welfare of the country. Many people believe that we can be better citizens if we take an interest in the welfare of the whole world.
  • • Citizens of all countries should feel that world peace is their responsibility. • To be a good citizen of your country, you have to know as much as you can about the conditions and problems not only at home but also in other parts of the world.
