  • 1. EFFECTIVENESS OF MAJOR AND ANCILLARY TASKS
  • 2.
    • I believe the combination of my film magazine cover and horror trailer poster are effective as I have used mise-en-scene suitable to that of a horror genre on both of my ancillary tasks.
  • 3.
    • To promote a horror trailer, companies often
    • use a range of devices to gain as much
    • recognition as possible. These include:
    • Posters
    • Television adverts
    • Interviews with cast members
    • Soundtracks
    • This helps to publicise the film.
    • As part of my project I was also expected to
    • create a horror poster and a film magazine
    • cover.
  • 4.
    • Horror Trailers would also be promoted
    • virally using:
    • Internet
    • YouTube
    • Mobile Phones
    • Social Networking Sites
    • However, since I am unable to do this I
    • decided to post our final productions on my
    • blog to potentially display our project to an
    • international audience.
  • 5.
    • In relation to my poster and magazine cover,
    • I believe I have created realistic print work, to
    • a high quality and therefore feel that it looks
    • authentic.
  • 6.

    • If our trailer was a real production we would post it onto numerous websites, including links to interviews with cast members, or possibly create a CD featuring songs from the film.
    • Interviews with cast members would also be featured in film magazines such as ‘Total Film’ and ‘Empire’, as there are numerous ways to gain recognition for a film.
  • 9.
    • By posting my completed productions on the blog, my audience has become a ‘pro-sumer’.
    • As an institution, it is vital to promote a film as much as possible, in order to maximise publicity and profits.
    • We have replicated this publicity to a certain extent as our ancillary tasks would act as promotions for our trailer; however we have done so on a much smaller scale.
    • I feel that we have not simply created a trailer for our A Level coursework, as we have manufactured something on a much larger scale which has the potential to entice a worldwide audience, who may comment on our work.
