  2. 2. 1-IntroductionWe are going to visit Scotland this year, from 10 June 2013 until 18June 2013.Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom.Occupying thenorthern third of the island of Great Britain, it sharesa border with England to the south and is bounded by the North Sea tothe east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the NorthChannel and Irish Sea to the southwest.

  4. 4. 1.1-Travel Information• We are going from Malaga to Edimburgh on 10 June 2013.We will take off at 11:40 from Malaga airport, and we are going toland in Edimburgh at 18:10•
  5. 5. • We are going to travel with «Air Scotland» and thecost in total is 180,90 euros.• When we will arrive in Edimburgh we are going torent a car for 8 days. We will rent a Kia Picanto forabout 60 euros.
  6. 6. 2-Information about the country.• The languages ​​spoken today or in the past in Scotland are dividedinto two families: Celtic languages ​​and Germanic languages​​. Theonly Celtic language which is still preserved in Scotland is theScottish Gaelic, spoken in parts of the Highlands and in theHebrides but had previously spoken in much wider areas.• RELIGIONSince the Scottish Reformation in 1560, the Church of Scotland, alsoknown as The Kirk, became Scotlands national church. It is a CalvinistProtestant Church and a Presbyterian system of organization, andenjoys independence from the state.
  7. 7. • GASTRONOMYScotlands cuisine shares many of the characteristics of English cuisine,but with some features and own food, often derived from its history andforeign influences. In general, Scottish cuisine is characterized by itssimplicity, using indigenous natural products (dairy, meat, fish, fruitsand vegetables) and giving up the spices and herbs. Ex: Scotch broth.• ECONOMYAlthough the Bank of England is the central bank of the UK, threeScottish banks still have the power to produce their own banknotes: theBank of Scotland, Royal Bank of Scotland and the Clydesdale Bank.The value of the Scottish banknotes in circulation is estimated at 1,500million pounds.

  11. 11. The visit to this castle lasts 3 hours, the visit includes the chapel ofHoly Daisy and the prisons, besides the famous cannon-shot.
  12. 12. After to visit the castle we will go down for the Royal Mile to visit StGiless Cathedral.on the night, already , it is the ideal moment to do someone of thetours of ghoststhat you will find in the Royal Mile (between theChurch Tron and St Giless Cathedral).
  13. 13. The night in Edinburgh we will spend it in the hotel Balmoral, one ofthe best hotels in Scotland because the queen of England stayedone night in one of his exclusive rooms.
  14. 14. DAY 2Today we will start by raising Calton Hill, the most famous hill ofEdinburgh, known as " the Athens of the North " for themonuments that there they find. From there you will have a fewmagnificent conference of Edinburgh. Going down where we haverisen we will take Princes Street until North Bridge comes to thebridgeTaking the Royal Mile in descending sense you will be happening fordiverse museums and places of interest: the Museum of theInfancy of Edinburgh, the Museum of Edinburgh, the PeoplesStory Museum and Canongates Cemetery (where Adam Smith isburied)

DAY 3On the second day of our cultural trip in Scotland, we leave thecapital to enter the National Park Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.This one is a precious place replete with calm and beautifulcorners close to the popular Lake Lomond. We will visit Lussspicturesque village, in the western shore of the lake to know hishistory and to contemplate magnificent Ben Lomonds conferencethat can be admired from his wharf. We will continue our itineraryup to Glencoes not less famous valley, where in 1692 there tookplace one of the darkest episodes of the history of Scotland, theknown one as " Glencoes Massacre ".We will spend the night in Fort William, to Ben Neviss feet, thehighest mountain of the United Kingdom.
  16. 16. DAY 4The famous and emblematic Lake Ness sera our near destination inthis fantastic cultural tour that we offer him in Scotland. We willrealize an excursion by ship on his mysterious waters together withDrumnadrochit, a popular people placed together with the lake.We will visit also in a small bay the ruins of Urquharts castle andhis visitors exceptional center. In the evening we will come toInverness with free time to walk along the city before havingdinner.

DAY 5We will continue our cultural itinerary in Scotland travelling up toSkyes fabulous island, Before coming to our destination of today,we will know Eilean Donans castle, placed strategically in theprecious confluence of three fiords and famous for appearing inthe movie " The Immortal ones ". Once in Skye, we will travelfollowing our cultural tour up to Elgols picturesque villa, fromwhich we will be able to contemplate a few unforgettableconference panoramic of the mountains Cuillin. We will realizefrom here an agreeable walk by ship to visit the spectacular LochCoruisk. The waters that bathe these coasts are frequently visitedby seals, dolphins, pecular sharks, whales minke, marine ottersand, in some occasions, killer whales.

  19. 19. DAY 6This morning we will know Loch an Eilein. We will continue our tripvisiting the Museum of Newtonmores Folklore, a fascinating placein which we will know since the former inhabitants of theHighlands were living with the nature. In the evening we will do avisit to one of many distilleries of whiskey that they find of wayPitlochry, our destiny of today. Possibly we will visit Dalwhinniesdistillery, where we will know the process of creation of thislegendary and famous drink known as the "uisge-beatha", which inGael means the water of the life. We will spend the night inPitlochry, a picturesque people construído in the Victorian epochabout the first tourist boom that developed in Scotland.
  20. 20. DAY 7 & 8In the last day of this sensational cultural trip, we will go towardsStirlings historical locality where we will visit his famous castle,former court of the kings Estuardo. Placed in one of the oldestcities of Scotland, this castle offers magnificent conference ofStirlings valley, dominating strategically in all the directions.Under his battlements there took place some of the most importantbattles of the history of Scotland, as Stirling Bridge orBannockburn. We will return later to Edinburgh and will give forconcluído this sensational and unforgettable trip of culturaltourism in Scotland, an extraordinary and incredibly beautifulcountry.
