Gamification

  1. 1. Dept. Digital Contents 072091 송치훈
  2. 2.  You’re not making a game
  3. 3.  Know what you are trying to achieve  What is the point of your game?  To increase consumer engagement?  How will you know if you have succeeded?  How will you measure it?
  4. 4.  Retention is crucial, yet criminally overlooked
  5. 5.  No, games are not just about competition  Killers want to beat other people  Achievers want to beat themselves  Explorers want to go places and find out stuff  Socialisers don’t care what they do as long as they are doing it with their friends.
  6. 6.  Make it personal  Avoid cash rewards  Allow people to show status  Gamify in a persistent world, expect users to progress over time  Have some profile or personal page, however minimal, to sh are with the wider world.
