  • 20. XIFI Network Controller • XIFI Network Controller acts as the orchestrator for the XIFI inter-region connectivity. It will enable the control and access to the network services supporting the federated Data Centers (DCs) – The SDN network service design is inspired in the ABNO (Application Based Network Orchestration) framework (IETF-defined), integrating just a meaningful set of functional modules – OpenNaaS framework completes the architecture by providing the enhanced features to cover the overall XIFI connectivity services 2017th March 2014 FIA Athens - Testbed Interoperability

XIMM Modules • NAM Module: Network Active Monitoring will enable us to check if Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are accomplished between specific endpoints (PoI) of the community – Core parameters provided are Bandwidth (throughput) and Latency (delay) • NPM Module: Network Passive Monitoring provides information which is extremely valuable in trouble-shooting as real traffic is monitored – Collected data depicts the status of network equipment • DEM Module: This component will handle the standard access to Datacenter & Enablers Monitoring – Scope parameters include performance of specific servers, both physical and virtual, and FI-WARE GE instances deployed 2417th March 2014 FIA Athens - Testbed Interoperability

Infrastructure Management: Deployment & Configuration • Due to the distributed nature of the XIFI community, it is required a component capable of facilitating the management of the Generic Enablers (GEs) deployed within the regions • The Deployment & Configuration Adapter (DCA) will provide the adaptation layer between the portal and the cloud hosting GEs (PaaS Manager, SDC, DCRM, SM) setup in the nodes • This adapter will be required to ensure the management prior to, during and after the installation of the GEs, both at node and federation levels 2617th March 2014 FIA Athens - Testbed Interoperability

  • 29. Branding Outlook A collections of tools that ease the deployment, setup, and operation of FI-WARE instances by Platform Providers. Main contribution by XIFI. The official instance of FI-WARE platform open to UCs and third party developers. XIFI provides the Community Cloud that extends it and operational support. The software platform developed by FI-WARE.
