CHICAGO WOLVES TALE OF THE TAPE Sunday, Oct. 27 3 p.m. Allstate Arena Team Record: 3-4-0-1 Last Game: 2-3 L vs. Grand Rapids (Oct. 26) Season Series: 0-0-0-0 Last Meeting: 2-1 Home Shootout Win (April 13) Team Record: 3-2-0-1 Last Game: 2-1 SOL at Rockford (Oct. 26) Season Series: 0-0-0-0 Last Meeting: 1-2 Road Shootout Loss (April 13) Storylines • Today’s tilt marks the first of four meetings between the Wolves and Charlotte Checkers. • The Wolves and Checkers both earned five out of a possible eight points in last year’s season series with the Wolves posting a 2-1-1-0 mark. • Today’s tilt against Charlotte marks the final game of Chicago’s October schedule and final home game before the team departs on its annual circus road trip. • The Wolves were clipped by the Grand Rapids Griffins Saturday night, their third straight loss at the Allstate Arena and fourth defeat in their last five games overall. • Defenseman DAVID SHIELDS dished out an assist Saturday after he recorded two points (G, A) on Thursday, which marked the first time in his 115-game AHL career he has bagged points in back-to-back games. • Chicago won a season-high 64.1 percent of its faceoffs Saturday night (41 of 64). By The Numbers 6 - Number of penalty shots goaltender MATT CLIMIE has faced and stopped in his AHL career, which includes one on Saturday; Chicago has surrendered just 10 penalty shot goals on 32 attempts. 5 - Number of games COREY LOCKE has notched a point this season; he leads Chicago with 7 points (3G, 4A) in seven games this year. 2 - Number of power-play goals the Wolves have scored in their last two games after scoring two man-advantage markers in their first six outings. Mark Flood enters today’s game leading Charlotte and ranking second among AHL blueliners with 5 goals; he scored the Checkers lone goal on Saturday. Right wing The 24-year-old has skated in each of Chicago’s last three outings after appearing in just one of the team’s first five games. The Valencia, Calf., native also has posted a +3 rating in his last three games. Defenseman The 29-year-old spent the 2012-13 campaign in the KHL with Yaroslavl Lokomotiv; he posted 6 points (G, 5A) in 52 games in Russia. The Charlottetown, PEI, native was teammates with Chicago’s Alexandre Bolduc and Evan Oberg with Manitoba in 2010-11.
