Team Record: 1-1-0-0 Last Game: 1-4 L at Texas (Oct. 5) Season Series: 1-0-0-0 Last Meeting: 2-1 Road Win (Oct. 4) Team Record: 1-1-0-0 Last Game: 3-1 W vs. Rockford (Oct. 5) Season Series: 0-1-0-0 Last Meeting: 1-2 Home Loss (Oct. 4) Storylines • Tonight marks Chicago’s 20th home opener and the first time it has opened at home against San Antonio. • Chicago has registered a 12-6-1-0 mark in home openers, but just a 5-5-1-0 record under head coach JOHN ANDERSON. • The Wolves enter tonight’s tilt coming off a 4-1 loss to the Texas Stars in their last outing on Oct. 5. • Defenseman JANI HAKANPAA netted the lone marker against the Stars. • The team is searching for its first power-play goal after opening the season zero for seven on the man-advantage. • Chicago has struggled with faceoffs in its first two outings this season, winning just 42% of its draws (56 of 133). • Two of the three markers the Wolves have bagged this season have come in the second period; the club shared 11th in the AHL with 74 middle-frame markers last season. • The Wolves and Rampage will square off for the third time in four games Sunday afternoon and then won’t play their final matchup in the season series until Dec. 14. By The Numbers 41 - Number of saves (on 42 shots) goaltender JAKE ALLEN posted against San Antonio on Oct. 4; the 23-year-old netminder also stopped 14 of the 15 shots he faced in the final frame. 6 - Number of shots the Wolves have fired in the third period this season; the club is getting outshot 31-6 in the final frame this year. 7 - Number of players on the Wolves roster that have never suited up for a game at Allstate Arena (Cannone, Edmundson, Hakanpaa, Harper, Jaskin, Rattie, Veilleux). PLAYER SPOTLIGHT #84 COREY LOCKE Center Corey Locke bagged a goal in his Wolves debut on Oct. 4 and added an assist on Oct. 5 to pace the team with 2 points over the weekend. The Toronto native was the only player to earn points in both of Chicago’s first two games. The 29-year-old’s goal against San Antonio on Oct. 4 was his first AHL goal since March 4, 2012. CHICAGO WOLVES TALE OF THE TAPE Saturday, Oct. 12 7 p.m. #14 VINCENT TROCHECK Center Rookie center Vincent Trocheck tallied an assist in each of his first two professional games last weekend. The 20-year-old paced the OHL with 109 points (50G, 59A) in 63 games with Saginaw and Plymouth last season en route to being named the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player. The Pittsburgh native was drafted in the third round (#64) by the Florida Panthers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
