  • 1.     Unit  1:  Factors,  Multiples  and  Arrays   • Can  you  draw  all  the  possible  arrays  for  this  number?  (eg:  20,  30,   50,  100)   • How  do  you  know  that  you’ve  found  all  the  possible  arrays?   • What  are  some  of  the  multiples  of  (3,5,6,8,9)?   • How  did  you  find  the  multiples?  What  strategies  did  you  use  to   find  those  multiples?   • Can  you  find  all  the  factors  for  (12,  24,  36,  48,  50)?   • How  do  you  know  that  you’ve  found  all  of  the  factors  of  that   number?     Unit  2:  Describing  the  Shape  of  the  Data   • How  can  you  measure  a  person’s  height  accurately?   • How  can  you  collect  and  organize  a  set  (or  sets)  of  data?   • How  can  you  accurately  represent  a  set  (or  sets)  of  data?   • From  your  table  or  graph  of  the  data  you  collected,  what  do  you   notice  about  the  data?   • What  do  you  think  would  be  a  typical  number?  Why  do  you  say   that?  Give  proof  from  your  data  to  support  your  thinking.   • What  landmark  numbers  can  you  find  to  describe  your  graph?   -­‐median   -­‐range  (highest  –  lowest  number)   -­‐mode   Is  the  data  close  together  or  spread  out?     Are  there  any  clusters  or  clumps  of  data?     Are  there  any  outliers?   (Use  the  math  dictionary  on  the  class  blog  to  help  with  this   vocabulary)     Create  your  own  survey:   • Design  a  clear  survey  question.  If  you  can,  compare  two  different   groups  (eg:  males/females,  adults/children,  Thailand/USA)   • Collect  data  and  organize  it  clearly  (eg:  tally  chart,  table)   • Clearly  represent  the  data  (eg:  line  plot,  bar  graph)     • Describe  the  data  (eg:  range,  median,  mode,  clusters,  spread,   outliers)   • Write  a  conclusion  for  your  data.  What  did  you  find  out?
