Miramax Films is an American entertainment company known for distributing
independent and foreign films. Founded in 1979 by Bob and Harvey Weinstein and
headquartered in New York City and Cambridge, Massachusetts, Miramax was a
leading independent film motion picture distribution and production company before
it was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 1993.

Miramax operated, until 2005, the label Dimension Films, specializing in genre
films and created the Spy Kids, Scream and Scary Movies film franchises.

Scream series is a series of world famous horror movies. The series has grossed over
$600 million in worldwide box-office receipts and consists, to date, of four motion
pictures. Besides the Scream(1,2,3), Miramax also made many other horror films and
most of them were very popular . We could learn their success from the ‘Top-Grossing
Movies chart, Miramax owned 5 movies out of 25 which was the most.
