2. This was a documentary about the legend, Meat Loaf and this was an insight of what really
happened to him and how he became being back on top again.
The documentary was a mixed documentary.
Music Biz (Marketing Meat Loaf) The Music Biz was a mixed documentary as it had a voice
over that lead the narrative, interviews with expertise and archive footage which
included music videos from several performers; this was used as evidence to show his
success.
3. This theme was split into different related themes such as; the importance of making
it to number 1 at Christmas and there was a battle to try and make other artists
come back and try and beat everyone to being number 1 in the Christmas charts.
In competition with Meatloaf were The village people, mr blobby and Cliff Richard.
Through out the documentary they made sure that everyone knew that meatloaf
was coming back to be on top.
The themes that occur in the documentary are; meat loaf personal life, celebrities,
image creation and the power that meat loaf has to be able manipulate the
audiences in the marketing business. The narrative structure was shown to be
closed, and 1 single stranded and this documentary was non linear which means
that the documentary wasn't in order and it includes a circular narrative as the
starting and end point is the same.
4. There was many different camera work shots such as; profile – on the side so we focus
of meat loaf, hand held – walking around with the camera, audiences going into
event, medium close up/close up – interviews positioned from left to right, point
of view shots, tracking shot, zooms – meats loaf, CDs, low angle- made radio city
look big.
The mise en scene involves the costumes which were on set, the events that were
seen, the music halls and the chromakey which means were its filmed in front of a
green/blue screen to add special effects.
5. The documentary when it came to sound there was a voice over which was a
male and the male was funny and sarcastic when saying certain things.
There was diagetic sounds like the fans, heat beating and the soundtrack,
drums were also involved and tension building music.
Editing involved conventional editing which meant all of the questions were
edited out, slow motion, cuts , dissolves, chromakey which is the green
screen.

6. The archive material which was used was interviews, music
videos, news paper cutting, noels house (Mr blobby), the brit
awards and top of the pops.
The graphics that were used were logo, name of their job role
(white and red background) and credits went across the
screen at the bottom - unconventional.
The text was always in white and in capitals to show consistency.
