2. Natural History Of A Back Yard
• Many insects can carry diseases to plants and
flowers in your backyard.
• Bees and wasp are good for your back yard.
• Leaf hoppers and glassy winged sharpshooters
are bad for the back yard.
• Nematodes are round worms in the soil and
on roots that are herbivores.
3. Pollinators Of A Back Yard
• Humming birds- more than 150 species of
plants are pollenated by humming birds.
• Birds- most birds eat insects, seeds and suet
but some birds pollenate the flowers of the
back yard. They are also a great pest control.

• Scared of wasp and bees at the feeder
• Migrate to warm weather places
• There are 16 species in North America
• They have High Metabolisms
• Most of their energy is spent on flying

project. Road kill affects the population of the

• Hydrgangea
• Petunias
• Holly bushes
• Tiger Lilies
• Mums
• Azaelia bushes
9. Stray Cat influence on Data
Since the stray cats there have been very few
numbers of:
• Mice
• Birds
• Rabbits
• Squirrels
• Chipmunks
Before the cats (at least 10 strays), there was an
abundance if these animals.
10. Community Forest Area
• Raccoons, possums and ground hogs reside
here.
• A few birds present.
• Field/ open land beside the forest area creates
great diversity for all kinds of animals
