Why is an editing log important ?
Definition of an Editing Log :
A daily editor log is maintained by the script supervisor during the production of a motion picture, or television show. The form is used to compile the beginning and ending mark of each shot. During post-production, the editor uses the log in order to find the shots needed for editing.
Why do we use an editing log?
To alert the next editor of what has been done.
To tell the next editor what needs to be done
To make sure future editors are aware of any problems that need to be fixed.
To keep on track with deadlines.
In case you do not return to editing for a long time, records have been saved.
