Social Studies Term 1 Reflection <ul><li>In Social, I hand things in that shows my best effort. My works are always handed in on time. I study hard for tests so I got high marks. I listen attentively to the teacher when he is talking. I don’t interrupt rudely when the teacher or another student is talking and sharing something to the class. I stay on task so that I don’t fall behind in the things we are doing. If I don’t understand something, I ask nicely. </li></ul>
Social Studies Term 2 Reflection <ul><li>In Social, I always write down the quote of the day. I don’t disturb other students when unnecessary. I always strive to finish any homework we do on time and with my best effort. I take care of my textbook and I always bring it whenever we have Social. I keep track of the due dates of tests and homework on my agenda so that I won’t forget. If I don’t finish an assignment that needs to be done in computer, I go to the library on my own time. I also participate in class whenever needed. </li></ul>
Practical Arts <ul><li>In Practical Arts, we learned to make different things. In term one, we were in Electronics and in term two, we were in Cooking. Both were very educational subjects. I really enjoyed it. Being Practical Arts, I learned that whatever you are doing, safety is the priority all the time. </li></ul>
Electronics <ul><li>In Electronics we made amazing things such as a Plant Probe and a Decision Maker DC. We learned parts of atoms, electricity flow and the resistor color code. In our first class, we watch a safety video which mainly teach us that electricity can shock you and </li></ul><ul><li>even kill you. </li></ul>Decision Maker Plant Probe
Sewing <ul><li>Sewing is our next Practical Arts. So far, we made a heart-shape pin cushion. Next, we wil be making pants. In Sewing, we have a group job. In our first class, we had to make a sewing title page, which I work really hard on.After class, we have to give ourselves marks out of 20. Computer <ul><li>In Computer, we use paint, GIF and the Internet many times. We have to finish whatever we are doing before class ends or else we have to finish it in our own time. We only get one class each cycle. We also do tests, not a written test but a typing test. It is good because we get to improve our typing level and speed. </li></ul>

For the two files, we used specific websites in the Internet to gather up our information. Then we have to answer a few question regarding that topic. We have to follow the instruction carefully so that we don’t lose marks.

Physical Education <ul><li>In Physical Education, we stretch, we run learn and we play. We also use stretch bands for stretching. It was hard but fun. We have to listen attentively to the teacher so that we will know what to do. Sometimes we play dodge ball or basketball. </li></ul>
Physical Education Units: Volleyball, Floor Hockey and Basketball We did journal questions each term but in term two we made a poster of either basketball or floor hockey. Then we have to show one thing we learned from that unit. We also did beep test whenever a term ends. It is when you run and touch a specific line before it beeps. It goes faster each level. Health <ul><li>In Health, we mostly learn about personal hygiene. We don’t do much assignments because we only get one class each cycle. Health is included with our Physical Education’s mark. We do assignments such as when we fill in the blanks of paragraph about Health. Sometimes we watch videos about Health, which are very interesting videos. We need a combination of healthy food and exercise to have a healthy body. </li></ul>
Math I did my Math portfolio in wiki space. It is easier to use and easy to do because most of us, in our class have internet. It very helpful because we can help each other when we need help. Inserting pictures and bubble shares are pretty easy too. In Math, we learned different units such as Measures of Central Tendency, Square Roots, Percents and Ratio and Proportion Questions. French Français Bienvenue We don’t just learn, we also joke around. If I don’t know something, I ask. Mr. Ramsoomair likes it when we ask questions. In French, we always have to bring our French textbook and we have to finish our homework. When we have upcoming tests or oral, he lets us study with a partner quietly which is helpful.
French <ul><li>Oral – is when we read a specific French paragraph and the teacher ask some questions. We get marked on our pronunciation and for our answers. </li></ul><ul><li>Test – is when we answer questions from the things we learned. </li></ul><ul><li>Les Verbes – the verbs we learned and will be learning throughout the school year. </li></ul><ul><li>Verb booklet – this is a booklet were we put the French verbs and their English translation. </li></ul>
Band Christmas Concert – flutes In Band, I play the flute. Last year, it was sort of hard for me to play it because of the different fingerings but now, I’m kind of used to it. Mrs. Martin is our Band teacher. She helps me sometimes when I can’t play part of a music or a new note. In our class, we mostly have the basic instruments. We also play specific music for our test. She marks our rhythm, posture, notes and sounds.
Extra-Curricular <ul><li>For the next five slides, I’ll be showing you the extra-curricular things I was involved in. Those things are doing voluntarily. I don’t get extra marks for doing them but I just do it to improve my skills or to help other students improve theirs. Sometimes, I miss some classes and it is my responsibility to catch up on the things I miss. I like joining extra-curricular activities because it helps me be organize in my free time and it keeps me occupied. </li></ul>
Leadership In leadership, we did buddy reading and home reading. In buddy reading, we usually have a grade 4 partner and we take turns reading books. In home reading, we pick any kindergarten. Then we ask them what they liked about the book they read at home and we try to help them write each word they said by dictating each word slowly. Kindergarten
Cross-Country We have to run cross-country in order to qualify in any sport’s team. We run hard every race. We practice everyday to prepare for upcoming races. Different coaches time us and encourage us not to quit. When we go to races we are usually in three different school buses. That’s how many students participate in our school. We run even if it rains or snows. SPS Cross-Country runners
Basketball We are very aggressive in practices, in games or in tournaments. We cheer for one another. We work as a team. We are all athletic. We are small but we look and play tough all the time. We always listen to our coaches, Mr. Marquardson and Mr. Mangaron.
Volleyball Our coaches were Mr. Marquardson and Ms. Bietz. Our practices starts at either 7:45 In the morning or 3:30 in the afternoon. We have to attend practices! We are always focus. We work hard in it because what we do in practice, we’ll do in a game. We also have to run in the morning before practices to make us fit. Girls’ Volleyball Team
Library Helper Library helpers like me, help puts some books in their correct shelf. Being a helper is voluntary. Each one of us, have our own shelf and we have to be responsible enough to go everyday. You can go in the morning, after lunch or after school to do it. Shelf
