  2. 2. At The Zoo <ul><li>The Zoo ( zoological garden, zoological park, menagerie ) is a very interesting place where all children and big people like to go. </li></ul><ul><li>There, we can see many animals and listen to them sounds. </li></ul><ul><li>Do you like zoos? </li></ul>
  3. 3. Vertebrate Animals Do you have any pets? Mammals Birds Amphibians Fish Reptiles
  4. 4. The Tiger <ul><li>This is a tiger. It is a mammal animal. </li></ul><ul><li>They are very strong and dangerous. They live in Asia </li></ul>
  5. 5. The Lion <ul><li>The Lion is the ‘ King of the Jungle ’. The mature male lion has a mane that covers the backside of the head, and the shoulders. </li></ul><ul><li>The lion baby is called Cub. The female lion is called Lioness. They live in Asia and Africa. </li></ul>
  6. 6. The Giraffe <ul><li>The giraffes have horns and a long neck. They eat only leaves and fruits (herbivore). </li></ul><ul><li>They live in Africa. </li></ul>
  7. 7. The Elephant <ul><li>This is an elephant. Its ‘big nose’ is called Trunk. The long teeth is called Tusks. They have large ears. Its habitat is Asia and Africa. </li></ul>
  8. 8. The Kangaroo <ul><li>The kangaroo has large and strong legs. They carry their youngs in the pouch. </li></ul><ul><li>They live in Australia. </li></ul>
  9. 9. The Rhinoceros <ul><li>The rhinos are very big grey animals with thick skin. </li></ul><ul><li>They have either one or two horns on their nose. </li></ul><ul><li>They live in Africa or Asia. </li></ul>
  10. 10. The Zebra <ul><li>The zebra is similar to a horse. </li></ul><ul><li>They have black and white stripes along their skin. </li></ul><ul><li>They live in Africa. </li></ul>

  12. 12. The Koala <ul><li>Koala is a marsupial animal that lives in Australia. </li></ul><ul><li>They have a pouch to carry their babies. </li></ul>
  13. 13. Monkeys <ul><li>They spend a lot of time up in trees and they like to eat fruits. </li></ul>Monkeys are small primates with tail and no thumbs.
  14. 14. Apes (Gorilla, Chimpanzee, Orangutan) <ul><li>Apes are bigger than monkeys. They live more comfortably on the ground. </li></ul><ul><li>They don’t have tail, but they can climb trees. </li></ul><ul><li>An ape is cleverer than a monkey. </li></ul>
  15. 15. The Camel <ul><li>They are recognized by the humps on their back. They live in the desert (Asia and Africa). </li></ul><ul><li>There are 2 types of them: </li></ul><ul><li>- Dromedary (with one hump); </li></ul><ul><li>- Bactrian (with two humps); </li></ul>
  16. 16. The Hippo <ul><li>The hippopotamus is a semi-aquatic animal. </li></ul><ul><li>They are big, heavy and dangerous. </li></ul><ul><li>They live in Africa. </li></ul>
