COURSE HIGHLIGHTS The Multidisciplinary Update in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine course brings together a multidisciplinary faculty from Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, Rochester, MN, and Scottsdale, AZ to provide a state-of-the-art update in pulmonary and critical care medicine. The course is designed for pulmonary physicians, internists, hospitalists, and specialists in critical care medicine. Lectures given by leaders in pulmonary and critical care medicine, pulmonary pathology, and radiology provide a comprehensive approach to the current evaluation and management of various respiratory diseases. The course will emphasize new and pertinent information regarding developments in respiratory and critical care medicine. • ABIM Maintenance of Certification Modules for Pulmonary and Critical Care • Lectures • QA Sessions • Case Studies COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: • Describe the evaluation and management of patients with deep venous thromboembolism and pulmonary embolism • List newer treatment options for patients with thromboembolism • Identify the latest tools in airway management with emphasis on emerging technologies • Identify current uses and abuses in noninvasive ventilation within the hospital setting • Discuss the current evaluation and management of patients with Scleroderma • Discuss the current evaluation and management of patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis • Evaluate the management of patients with connective tissue disease and pulmonary vascular disease • Evaluate the management of patients with connective tissue disease and diffuse pulmonary disease • Describe the uses of bedside ultrasound in the Intensive Care Unit DISCLAIMER Attendance at this Mayo course does not indicate nor guarantee competence or proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught in this course. To guarantee an individual reservation past 6:00 p.m., an amount equal to $179 must be received by the FireSky Resort Spa within 7 days from date the reservation is made.
