The Disaster: Life Threatening Global Catastrophe <ul><li>Any of the following global scale catastrophes might strike earth and destroy most parts of the planet. </li></ul><ul><li>Many species become extinct and only little human population survive. </li></ul>Asteroid Strike Mega Earthquakes and Tsunamis Extreme Climate
  3. 3. <ul><li>If the depicted disasters occur, the survivors will struggle to fulfill basic needs of life as many crops, plants and animals on which human feed themselves, will vanished from earth. </li></ul><ul><li>Humanity require a safe place, out of this World, where they could preserve the basic stuff needed to restart life on earth </li></ul>Nuclear Warfare Widespread Epidemic Last Survivors after Global Catastrophe <ul><li>There have been indications about occurrence of such global scale disasters due to effects of global warming, population increase and expanding solar activity. </li></ul><ul><li>Some spiritual predictions also point towards such tragic disasters. </li></ul>

Preparing for Life Threatening Catastrophe: Automated Inception Vault In Space - AIVIS <ul><li>What is AIVIS? – “Automated Inception Vault In Space” is an inventory of basic materials and methods kept outside the earth in a network of artificial satellites which will be utilized to restart life after global catastrophe, through automated earth landing and retrieval. </li></ul>Master Satellite Hub between Vault Satellites and Earth Stations Vault Satellites: Contain “ Inception Cargo ” AIVIS Satellite network in space Earth Stations: Acknowledge signals to Master Satellite, stating peace at earth
  5. 5. <ul><li>Master Satellite </li></ul><ul><li>Contain control systems, remote sensors and earth communication equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain periodic radio communication with earth stations and track acknowledgements to know that life exists at earth. </li></ul><ul><li>Monitors earth and space weather through remote sensors. </li></ul><ul><li>Vault Satellites </li></ul><ul><li>Contain “Inception Cargo”, power generation equipment, radio, control electronics and descending assistance equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Inception Cargo is a package of life starting materials such as basic tools, seeds of common crops, illustrated methods of saving life, printed copy of encyclopedia and any other stuff deemed necessary after research. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>When the catastrophe occurs, the earth stations will no longer be able to acknowledge the periodic radio transmissions from Master Satellite. A repeated failure to communicate with multiple earth stations will tell the Master that a global disaster has struck. </li></ul><ul><li>Redundancy and error proofing schemes will be required in overall system, so as to avoid any false trigger. </li></ul>Communication breakdown <ul><li>After confirmation of catastrophe, the Master Satellite will monitor the earth conditions such as atmosphere, temperature and images to delay the landing order to Vaults until suitable conditions on earth for inception cargo to be useful. </li></ul><ul><li>After checking all pre programmed parameters, the Master will provide signals to all other Vault Satellites for initiation of automated landing. </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>The landing of the Vault Satellites would be such that it will accomplish following purpose: </li></ul><ul><li>Safe landing and release of inception Cargo through power deceleration before striking earth and air bag covering for reducing impact. (Used in Mars Path Finder Mission) </li></ul><ul><li>Announce the cargo arrival and it’s approximate location through visible trails in sky of falling Vault Satellites. </li></ul>Mars Pathfinder Landing Illustration Visible Trail in Sky <ul><li>Enable quick search after landing through external reflectors and lights. </li></ul><ul><li>Automatic disassemble mechanism, to allow easy and safe recovery of inception cargo to survivors. </li></ul>

Utility and Realization of AIVIS <ul><li>AIVIS will provide more secure preservation of basic living species in the wake of ever increasing risk of global catastrophes. </li></ul><ul><li>It will serve as a knowledge preservation scheme by inclusion of printed encyclopedia and basic tools/methods in the inception cargo. </li></ul><ul><li>It might help to save the living species on earth from extinction. </li></ul><ul><li>Speed up recovery after global catastrophe. </li></ul><ul><li>AIVIS will be more immune from earthly disasters and deliberate human interventions. </li></ul><ul><li>Can be realized with existing technologies i.e. low temperature preservation methods, satellite technology, electronic control systems, radio communications and safe satellite descending systems as adopted for various Moon and Mars Missions. </li></ul><ul><li>A dedicated team of professionals can work out the exact design of this proposed system which can then be implemented with the provision of resources. </li></ul>
