  • • Hook/attention grabber: With so many different ways of producing audio, shouldn’t there be one platform of production that is outright better than all the others? Surely there is one workstation that has all the bells and whistles to make the most superior music.
  • • The Big Idea: Logic Pro is a powerful and capable Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) yet Pro Tools remains the primary standard for the media production industry. Logic should replace Pro Tools as the industry standard.
  • • What’s in it for your audience? Explain why your topic is important or worth discussing.  Any audio production has to be created using some sort of audio workstation. The two most common and commercially available are Pro Tools and Logic Pro. Any person who is involved with audio production at some level must be familiar with at least one of, if not both workstations.
  • • Why should your audience listen to you? Explain your ethos (credibility): I started working with DAWs and producing my own music when I was 18. I’ve had many years of experience using both workstations and plan to turn my amateur career into a professional career as a music producer.
  • • Call to Adventure: There are noticeable differences with these two audio workstations. Which one suits your production needs better?
  • • Preview the three main points that will support your big idea: 1) Logic Pro is arguably better creatively. 2) Logic Pro can use any interface. Pro Tools has a specific interface. 3) Logic Pro is new, sleek and ready to take over.
  • • Supporting Point One: Logic Pro is arguably better creatively.
  • • Logic Pro has a simple layout with a wide selection of built in audio and virtual instruments. Logic Pro is also very good at MIDI editing making arranging, editing and sampling very easy.
  • • Supporting Point Two: Logic Pro can use any interface. Pro Tools has a specific interface.
  • • Logic Pro can use a wide variety of audio interfaces making it versatile and handy on the go. Pro Tool requires a certain audio interface and won’t work with any others. Pro Tools HD can also be quite costly.
  • • Supporting Point Three: Logic Pro is new, sleek and ready to take over.
  • • Since the dawn of the digital age, Pro Tools has been the front-runner and standard in audio production. Logic Pro is fairly new, however it is beginning to find a place in the recording industry.
  • • Call to Action: If you’re not using both audio workstations already, I challenge you to try using the other and see if you appreciate or dislike the differences.
  • • Summarize the main points: 1) Logic Pro is arguably better creatively. 2) Logic Pro can use any interface. Pro Tools has a specific interface. 3) Logic Pro is new, sleek and ready to take over.
  • • The Big Idea: Logic Pro is a powerful and capable Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) yet Pro Tools remains the primary standard for the media production industry. Logic should replace Pro Tools as the industry standard.
  • • Clincher/new bliss: Logic Pro has functions and abilities that make it distinctive. This opens up the door to endless creativity, meticulous detail and superior, unique sound.
