    • Abstract
      • In this presentation Cerner’s clinical information system that is used by University of Illinois in Chicago will be evaluated. The criteria by which it was evaluated will be displayed in the PowerPoint. Benefits will be outlined in the following slides.
    • Cerner Millennium Inpatient Sub Systems/Integrated Systems
      • Cerner consists of numerous sub systems/integrated systems.
      • Cerner is a complex customizable platform with applications or solutions as Cerner calls them. These solutions can be modified, added or removed to tailor it’s use for a given health system.
      • Cerner consists of two primary sub systems: Cerner Millenium and Cerner Powerworks.

      • Charts are more secure than ever. Charts are password protected. Charting is paperless, decreasing the information that can get into the wrong hands.

      • As said previously, the solutions Cerner offers vary by need from surgery to primary care. System users of a given system log on via strong passwords and are able to document.
      • Cerner has a support system that is available 24 hours a day and 365 days per year. They are always on call to address a hospitals needs.
