  • 4. CARE: making CF work for the poor program• “advancing a pro-poor approach to carbon finance programming that: – reduces poverty, – secures rights, – enhances gender equality – and supports adaptation to climate change while ensuring real climate change mitigation.”
  • 5. SACC objective• A large scale carbon-financed sustainable agriculture project has been designed and initiated on a pilot basis• Pilot phase( 22 months) • PDD • Benefit sharing • Business development • Implementation with 1000 farmers( tree planting & climate smart agriculture)
  • 6. Communication strategy• Use of community resource persons• Balancing expectations- Natural benefits of adoption Vs. possible carbon finance revenues
