2. The main purpose of the character ‘Mike Dexter’ is
to be the jock of the movie ‘Cant Hardly Wait.’
The jock in this film is the main villain.
He is a buffed up guy that has a big red shirt to
show that Red conveys Anger and power.
If it wasn’t for this character, there would be no story
to this film.
At the start the main focus was on him and Amanda
becket breaking up their relationship so the main
character, Preston Myers, has and opportunity to get
the girl.
Mike Dexter
3. This particular character in the film is a typical
Jock.
This type of character is sporty, tanked, not
smart, sexually active and always picks on the
nerd.
Most particularly always get the girl but by his
stupidity, he breaks up with the girl to have
sexual intercourse with other women.
He is the perfect representation of a typical
Jock.
Stereotype
4. Mike Dexter's vales are that life is meant to be
fun and that other peoples feelings don’t matter
except for his.
This character is a negative representation
because he shoves people out of his way;
doesn’t care about anyone’s feelings except his;
acts like a bully and most of all thinks of girls
as his toys.
The audience would probably view this
character as the bad guy in the situation and
nobody like the bad guy.
Values
5. In this shot you can see that the camera is
getting only Mike and Amanda to show that
they were already getting along and that the
jock always gets the girl.
In this screenshot, you can see that he is a
position of power and authority over his
friends.
The way that he is standing and that
everything in the shot looks not that great but
he stands out. (Mise en scene)

7. He is built in a way that he gets softer and
more apologetic when he gets drunk and hears
the truth and when he feels the same pain as
William and the older college student.
He is constructed as a bully when he shoves
every one out of his way.
He starts to feel cheated by his friends and
starts to feel abandoned like Amanda.
Constructed through
Behaviour, events and
storyline.
