  3. 3. <ul><li>Considered to be one of the most influential photographers of the twentieth century. </li></ul><ul><li>Helped to bring photography into the mainstream of the art world. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>He was one of the few photographers who worked as well in color as he did in black and white. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Like Ansel Adams, Callahan began using a huge view camera loaded with 8-by10 inch negatives that he could print by laying them directly on photosensitive paper and exposing them to light. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>He was totally self-motivated, extremely curious about technique, and continually willing to try new approaches </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>. He worked with extreme contrast, collage, multiple and time exposures, camera motion, and unique lighting. </li></ul>
