  2. 2.  All produce farmers work through Sodexo approved vendors/distributors • All produce farmers refers to: small, local, regional, and large size farms Requirements of farms seeking to sell to Sodexo
  3. 3.  Audited and/or certified annually by a Sodexo approved 3rd party audit firm.  Provides oversight of the farms to ensure that Good Agricultural Practices (GAP’s).  Provide general liability insurance (naming Sodexo as additional insured) in the amount $5M per occurrence.  Maintain effective product trace-back and recall procedures.  Indemnify Sodexo against any general liability claim related to their product.  Contractually required to purchase local products. Sodexo’s requirements of the approved vendor
  4. 4.  Food Safety and Liability • Food safety and liability requirements are determined by the produce vendor. Farmer commitment to work with an approved vendor

Sodexo’s requirements of the approved vendor "Sodexo encourages participation and growth opportunities for local farmers and requires that its produce suppliers use best efforts to provide developmental assistance to “local” farmers. Accordingly, Distributor represents to Sodexo that locally grown products shall be included in its portfolio of products offered to customers and delivered to the Accounts when in season to the extent such local products are available. Sodexo defines “local” as farmers within the same state or geographic region."

Duck Delivery Produce - Portland, OR  Nearly 900 students at Salem-Keizer Public Schools' Leslie  Farm to school lunch  Teach students about the abundance of food grown and produced in Oregon  Fresh and nutritious menu features locally- grown and raised items like natural beef, Gala apples, jicama, potatoes, pears, kidney beans, red onions, zucchini and radishes.  Some of the locally-produced items on the menu include cheese and black bean burgers.
