Maslow’s hierarchy of needs!!!

  1. 1.  People have to be able to be secure to survive.  Safety needs: ▪ House alarm. ▪ Car alarms. ▪ Locked doors.
  2. 2.  Humans need to feel good about themselves. There are two types of self-esteem:  High self esteem.  Low self esteem. ▪ High self esteem ▪ Doing something perfect and getting credit for it. ▪ Making an A in a course that you thought you would fail.
  3. 3.  Low self esteem  The need for attention  A dream you know will never come true. It would be good to have high self esteem so that people wont feel alone or sad.
  4. 4.  A person’s full potential. The object to this according to Maslow is to become everything one person is able to become.  To be self aware.  So people will be concerned of ones personal growth.  Setting goals for one’s self.
  5. 5.  According to Maslow these are the most basic needs of a person.  For example: ▪ You need food to survive. ▪ Sleep to operate. ▪ And air to live.
  6. 6.  Humans have the ability to love and be loved by other humans.  Relatives or relationships. ▪ If people didn’t feel loved they may feel depressed or lonely. Antisocial. ▪ It can also be caused by not being accepted into their favorite sport or class. ▪ Friends making fun of them.
