  2. 2. There were many gods in Greece.<br />The belief of many gods was called <br />Polytheism. This presentation is all<br />About the Greek gods!<br />
  3. 3. Zeus<br />Zeus was the king of all the Greek gods! He was able to do anything.<br />He was the god of Heaven and Earth. His animal symbol was an eagle.<br />He once defeated Kronos to save his brothers and sisters. Zeus takes <br />Place in a lot of stories.<br />Zeus welcomed everyone to <br />Mount olympus. Hades didn’t <br />Come.<br />
  4. 4. Hera<br />Hera was the queen of the gods and the wife of<br />Zeus. Her main animal was a peacock. She once was<br />Spying on a storm cloud with zeus and another of<br />His wives in it. Zeus disguised his new bride as a cow.<br />Hera tied her to a tree and told her 100 eyed guardian<br />Argus, to watch her. Later, Argus was bored to death.<br />She got jealous of Zeus’ other<br />Wives. She would try to kill them.<br />
  5. 5. Hades<br />Hades was the god of the under-<br />world. He had a pet named Cerberus.<br />His wife was Persephone. He actually<br />Stole Persephone from her mother,<br />Demeter. Hades forced Persephone<br />To come back to the underworld for 4<br />Months every year.<br />Hades had a helmet of invisibility to<br />Strike his enemies unseen.<br />
  6. 6. Poseidon<br />Poseidon was the god of the sea. He had <br />A trident and used it to cause earthquakes.<br />He created horses out of the waves. He <br />Tortured Odysseus for blinding his cyclopes<br />Son Polyphemus. By the end of Poseidon’s wrath,<br />Odysseus was begging for mercy!<br />Poseidon gave people a great gift. The horse.<br />
  7. 7. Demeter<br />Demeter was the goddess of agriculture. She<br />Had a daughter named Persephone, who was <br />Stolen by Hades to be his wife. It was a beautiful<br />Day, and she heard Persephone crying for help.<br />When ever persephone is gone, Demeter is sad,<br />And it becomes winter.<br />Demeter was the goddess of the harvest,<br />And helped farmers.<br />
  8. 8. Hestia<br />Hestia was the goddess of the hearth and fire.<br />She was one of Zeus’ sisters. She is the oldest<br />As a matter of fact. She is known as the forgotten<br />Goddess, because so little is known about Hestia.<br />Hestia tended the hearth at Mount Olympus.<br />
  9. 9. Athena<br />Athena was the goddess of wisdom. She was<br />One of Zeus’ daughters. She defended the <br />Gods from someone named Aracne. Aracne<br />Was a woman who thought she was better then<br />The gods. Then Athena turned aracne into a<br />Spider.<br />Athena was born a thought, and sprang<br />Out of Zeus’ head a full grown woman.<br />
  10. 10. Ares<br />Ares was the god of war! He turned into<br />A boar when he was angry at people. Then,<br />He killed them.<br />He got married to Aphrodite and had a son <br />Named Eros (cupid).<br />
  11. 11. Aphrodite<br />She is the goddess of love. She started<br />The Trojan war by promising someone <br />Named Paris the most beautiful woman<br />On Earth. She really wanted Paris’ <br />Golden apple, so she promised him<br />Helen of Troy. Helen was already married.<br />She came out of the sea all full grown.<br />She has no parents.<br />
  12. 12. Apollo<br />Apollo was the god of the sun and music.<br />He killed a dragon named Phaethon to win<br />An oracle. He rode a golden chariot with<br />White geese.<br />Apollo once owned a giant cow herd.<br />
