I enjoyed the presentation. I’ve read articles about ROWE before. It is an intriguing concept. I have also read an article about Best Buy’s corporate campus which is modeled like an airport with separate 'terminals.' Supposedly the only place to get coffee on the entire campus is in a full Caribou Coffee shop in the 'main terminal.' They did this so there would be 'accidental interactions' between people that normally don’t see each other or work together. These types of chance interactions that lead to professional relationships, new ideas, collaboration, etc. would seem to be diminished under ROWE. I think the concept would be very difficult to implement effectively in a smaller, high-growth environment and situations that require high levels of collaboration. Still an interesting concept though...
