Saint George is the patron saint of England. His emblem is the flag of England.
He was born during the III Century A.D. (After Christ Death) in the old Capadoccia (nowadays is Turkey). He was a brave Roman soldier who protested against the Roman’s torture of the Christians and died for his beliefs.
I n the 12th century the emblem was adopted by Richard The Lionheart whose soldiers wore it on their tunics to avoid confusion in battle.
