CEPT University, a 50 year old institution  is committed to building thoughtful professionals with indepth understanding of human settlements  focuses on creating understanding of designing, planning, constructing and managing human habitats. The Faculty of Management is newly established. A two year master’s course in Habitat Management
  • 3. THE NEED • Economic growth and urbanization over time have led to significant and concentrated urban settlements. • An increase in urban population has led to an expansion of human habitats in various forms. • We believe that better management can make Indian cities, towns and buildings more livable, efficient and robust than they are today.
  • 4. THE NEED • These habitats need attention to maintain the existing structures and manage the future expansion. • Professionals with state-of-the-art training and skills are needed in the government, private and non-profit sectors. The program offers a blend of understanding of urban management practices and of core-management principles
  • 5. THE MHM Program • MHM aspires to bring about notable changes in urban India by creating a pool of professionals of high quality that are dedicated to management of human habitat. • Utilizing the specialization of CEPT in habitat and built environment sector, the MHM program is built around interdisciplinary skills needed to educate and create professionals.

THE MHM PROGRAM OPENS UP CAREER OPTIONS IN • • • • • • • local and state governments; development authorities and agencies; project management firms; engineering, architecture and planning firms; international development organizations; development financing organizations non-profit development agencies

SEMESTERS 1 learning urban context, settlements, history, communication, accounting, management principles, utilitiesidentification of issues and finding solutions 2 making operations and management plan for an urban neighborhood ; urban finance, organisation behavior, ethics and governments, egovernance, business skills 3 management planning of a large urban area, social utilities, strategy, marketing branding, contract management , project management principles, negotiations, conflict management 4 capstone project – research thesis or project work
  • 9. HOW TO APPLY • MHM is open to all graduates. • Application forms are available at http://cept.ac.in • The admission process includes a written test followed by an interview
