  • Edinburgh Castle is a fortress which dominates the skylineof the city of Edinburgh, SCOTLAND, from its positionatop the volcanic Castle Rock. The castle has shelteredmany Scottish monarchs. They include Queen Margaret(later St Margaret), who died here in 1093, and MaryQueen of Scots, who gave birth to James VI in the RoyalPalace in 1566. It is now Scotlands leading touristattraction, and a key element of the Edinburgh WorldHeritage Site.The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo isan annual display of stunning militarysets from around the world.
