Food Cycle Ride – Vision <ul><li>Raise funds for Centre Wellington Food Bank; priorities </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Supplement canned and packaged foods with usable local farm products (eggs, milk, meat, potatoes, carrots, etc.) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Support use of the Food Bank’s Community Kitchen to benefit both food bank clients and community groups </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Support local farmers’ food production </li></ul><ul><li>Youth participation and leadership development </li></ul><ul><ul><li>promote physical fitness and leadership skills for youth </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>organizing high school class cycling teams; </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>volunteering to support the event </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Safe cycling event, geared toward serious & recreational cyclists </li></ul>

Food Cycle Ride - Event <ul><li>Mass participation event (first-year goal is 300 riders) </li></ul><ul><li>70 km and 45 km circuits on Wellington/ Waterloo’s back roads </li></ul><ul><li>Start/Finish at Centre Wellington District High School </li></ul><ul><li>Will include post event snacks/lunch for all at CW District High School, prepared in CWFB’s community kitchen </li></ul>

Food Cycle Ride - Routes <ul><li>70 km route: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Starts and ends at CW District High School on Scotland Road – ride the back roads of Wellington/ Waterloo through West Montrose; past the covered bridge (two water stations) </li></ul></ul><ul><li>45 km route: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Same start; turn off longer route shortly after covered bridge in West Montrose (one water station) </li></ul></ul>
