participio de pasado de los verbos regulares se forma añadiendo ‘-ed’ ( o ‘-d’, en el<br />caso de verbos acabados en -e) a la forma de infinitivo.<br />1. En palabras con una vocal corta y que terminan en consonante simple, la consonante se duplica,<br />e.g. stopped, planned.<br />2. En palabras que acaban en consonante + y, la -y cambia a -i, e.g. carried, hurried.<br />3. La -l se duplica en inglés británico (pero no en inglés americano), e.g. travelled.<br />REGLAS PARA LA PRONUNCACIÓN DEL PASADO SIMPLE Y PARTICIPIO DE PASADO DE LOS VERBOS<br />RECULARES.<br />bEl sufijo -<br />ed varía en su pronunciación de acuerdo con las reglas que a<br />continuación se indican:<br />1. -ed se pronuncia /ɪd/ después de /t/ y /d/, e.g. wanted, mended.<br />2. -ed se pronuncia /d/ después de sonidos sonoros menos ‘d’: vocales y /m, n, ŋ, ʤ, ʒ, g... /, e. g.<br />rained, covered, seemed.<br />2. -ed se pronuncia /t/ después de sonidos sordos menos ‘t’: /k, p, s, f, ʃ, ʧ, θ.../, e.g. Iooked, helped,<br />crossed.<br />NOTA.
