    • WHAT IS AN ERP??? Agosto 2012
    • What is an ERP? Enterprise Resource Planning. ERP is short for enterprise resource planning. ERP is: • An integrated system that allows different departments to exchange data and information. • Functions performed by an ERP platform include: - Financial data management - Business - Assets management - Personnel and workforce management. Without an ERP, businesses normally have separate software for each function, and the different types of software may not be able to exchange data among them. SAP is one of Companies that manufacture ERP platform software.
    • What is an ERP? ERP vanquishes the old standalone computer systems in finance, HR, manufacturing and the warehouse, and replaces them with a single unified software program divided into software modules linked together, providing an integrated vision of your business. ERP is often referred to as back-office software, the main goal is not to handle the up-front selling process, even if in some industries it can; most ERP vendors have recently developed CRM software to do this; rather, ERP takes a customer order and provides a software road map for automating the different steps along the path to fulfilling the order. When a customer service representative enters a customer order into an ERP system, he has all the information necessary to complete the order
    • What is an ERP? People in these different departments all see the same information and can update it. When one department finishes with the order it is automatically routed via the ERP system to the next department. To find out where the order is at any point, you need only log in to the ERP system to track it down. With luck, the order process moves like a bolt of lightning through the organization, and customers get their orders faster and with fewer errors than beforeAn ERP platform is designed to help a business organize itsresources to make the most profit the business can make.Using an ERP, a business can schedule its use of resourceslike property, machinery, and workforce assets in a meansthat helps the company achieve more productivity andefficiency.
    • What is an ERP? Benefits ERP • Eliminate the need to synchronize changes between multiple systems—consolidation of finance, marketing and sales, human resource, and manufacturing applications • ERP can greatly improve the quality and efficiency of a business. By keeping a company’s internal business process running smoothly. • Can lead to better outputs that will benefit the company such as customer service, and manufacturing • Can protect sensitive data by consolidating multiple security systems into a single structure • ERP provides support to upper level management to provide them with critical decision making information. This decision support will allow the upper level management to make managerial choices that will enhance the business down the road.
