Composition of NDRF Bns <ul><li>Each Bn have 1149 personnel </li></ul><ul><li>Each Bn have 18 specialist teams of 44 </li></ul><ul><li>Members to handle natural & NBC disasters. </li></ul><ul><li>Each team have Engineers, Paramedics, </li></ul><ul><li>Technician, Electrician, Communication </li></ul><ul><li>personnel & Dog squad. </li></ul><ul><li>Organized, equipped and trained for all type </li></ul><ul><li>of disasters . </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>i) Capable in CSSR operations. </li></ul><ul><li>ii) Men are trained in MFR (Medical First Responder) </li></ul><ul><li>iii) Men are trained in Flood and mountain rescue operations. </li></ul><ul><li>iv) Each unit has deep divers. </li></ul><ul><li>36 Dogs would be present with capability of search & rescue operations. </li></ul><ul><li>vi) Presence of specialized manpower viz. 36 Engineers, 19 Doctors, 36 Nurses, 18 Technicians, 18 Electricians etc. make it a highly specialized professional Force. </li></ul><ul><li>vii) Authorization and presence of highly specialized equipments. </li></ul><ul><li>viii) High mobility. </li></ul>CAPABILITIES & STRENGTH OF NDRF Bn

C O N C E P T <ul><li>NDRF Bns located to cover most vulnerable and High Risk Areas within 4-8 hrs in the country. </li></ul><ul><li>Geared to take on Regional and International commitments on short notice. </li></ul><ul><li>Ready and proactive availability of NDRF to States. </li></ul><ul><li>Trained for heli-insertion in impact areas. </li></ul><ul><li>Readiness of Force to be on highest priority. </li></ul><ul><li>NDRF Bns to facilitate all possible Trg for State Response Forces. </li></ul><ul><li>NDRF will be a dedicated Force exclusively for disaster response and capacity building activities related to disaster management. </li></ul>
  11. 11. <ul><li>PRE-DISASTER </li></ul><ul><li>Will impart Disaster Management training to the local police, District Authorities, PRIs and other Stake holders. </li></ul><ul><li>Will organise community awareness and preparedness programme during familarisation & recee of vulnerable areas in the A.O.R. </li></ul><ul><li>Will impart training to the teachers and school children in the management of Natural Disasters. </li></ul>ROLE OF NDRF
