1. 1. Weekly Update Jan 10-14
By Guy and Conor
2. 2. A New Week
This week was a fun but very busy week. In class, we learnt more about percentages and Ms. Fung helped us with our blogs. We got to decide on our new Lit Circle groups. In French we had a few tests andin P.E we had the 12 minute run plus the Beep Test which was incredibly tiring. We watched two movies called The Cove andShark Waterwhich both dealt with water creatures and people trying to save them.
3. 3. Mad Monday
A typical Monday day where everyone had come back from a (hopefully) good weekend. Our first class was music so we grabbed our instruments and went to our first period. For music we had a substitute teacher called Ms. Nesbitt. When we came back to class our substitute Mr. Beltrame taught us a little bit about our knew UOI. He made us use our prior knowledge to brainstorms the word technology. The rest of the day zipped past us as we did French tests and went to Chinese.
4. 4. Tricky Tuesday
The first thing that happened in the morning was that Ms. Archer came into our classroom to talk to us about the Halloween paragraphs that we had all done and started us on reflection writing. In P.E later on in the day we had the Beep Test which was extremely tiring for some people. We were assigned to do a reflection about either two UOI’s that we had currently done. We learnt some more about percentages in by going onto some websites that had sales and we did some online shopping. Along with that, we also arranged our new seating plan.
5. 5. Wasteful Wednesday
On Wednesday Ms. Fung came into our class room to help us put things up on our blogs like comments, posts and different types of widgets. After we had done that, we had French straight after recess giving us yet another test. Later on in the day, we went to the LLAC to watch a movie called The Cove. It was about a small community in Japan slaughtering all of the dolphins inTaiji. A group of people decided to tackle the situation head on by trying to show it to the world.
6. 6. Tiring Thursday
On Thursday Mrs. Archer paid us another visit, bringing along Ms Staceywho was going to help her for a week. She wanted to teach us about the 6 thinking hats; these hats areused when you were thinking or presenting a speech or anything really. Also on that day we sorted out our new Lit Circle groups and the new books are actually about successful companies. After that we had an exhausting 12 minuet run in P.E. Next we had a yummy lunch and dived straight into our homework for the next day and reflecting on The Cove. After that we moved to Chinese and after that it was to go home.
7. 7. Finally Friday
After a tiring week everyone was glad that it was finally Friday. We had French immediately and a lot of people did some presentations about the story that we were currently learning. Then we hurried along to see a movie once again called Shark Water which was similar to The Cove but also different in many ways. We then got a late recess and did a graphic organizer for the two different movies that we had viewed. After we had come back from Chinese class we told our differences and similarities to the class. At the end of the day we did some goal and portfolio work.
8. 8. Weekend
Overall it was a busy but fun week and next week something entirely different will probably happen.
