2. 2. PROMPT #1 The veterans told Elie “This camp us a real paradise today.” Why did they burst out laughing at his response?
 3. 3. Score: 0, 1, 2, or 3?

They burst out laughing at Elie’s response because Elie got scared. “Today is a little paradise…the Kapos are ordered to kill a certain number of prisoners every day, every week…” Stop it, be quietI” I begged.” “Are you scared?” They asked. When the Kapos told Elie people are killed daily, and when they saw his reaction to what they said, they laughed because they knew he was scared.

 4. 4. Score: 0, 1, 2, or 3?

They laughed because it was upsetting elie. “Stop it! Be quiet! I begged. You can tell your stories tomorrow or some other day.” He didn’t want to hear about the torture.

 5. 5. Score: 0, 1, 2, or 3?

They burst out laughing because the veteran was not telling the truth. Camp for them was like being murdered. “Kapos had orders to kill a certain number of prisoners every day.” So therefore camp was the opposite of a paradise for them.

 6. 6. Score: 0, 1, 2, or 3?

The veterans burst out laughing because they made elie believe they were really veterans, but they were not. “Stop it! Be quiet! I begged. You can tell your stories tomo0rrow or on some other day. They burst out laughing. They were not veterans for nothing.” Most veterans won’t sit there and laugh at someone if they’re scared.
