"Description:
Phosphorus ore is an irreplaceable and non-renewable resource. China is the second largest phosphorus ore reserves country in the world, following Morocco. Though China’s phosphorus ore resource is abundant, its grade is low in general, for instance, phosphorus ore reserves with grade of 30% or above is only 1.108 million tonnes in China, accounting for only 8% of the total reserves. There were 192 phosphorus ore enterprises with total output amounting to 57,654,000 tonnes in China in 2009. In China’s phosphorus ore industry, it is a mainstream in future that giant enterprises which are engaged in production of phosphorus ore and its downstream products will integrate phosphorus ore resource and merge small enterprises.

In this report, CCM will provide you insight analysises on the following aspects:

To provide detailed information of Chinese phosphorus ore reserves, grade of ore, economic value, distribution and problems need to be solved.

To release key information of major enterprises including capacity, output, operating rate, mining right of phosphorus ore, strategies, competitiveness and downstream industries.

To provide consumption structure of downstream industries and its changes, supply & demand, market value, price trend and influencing factors for market.

To provide forecast on Chinese phosphorus ore reserves and production and its potential impacts on the whole phosphate chemical industry in China.

  • 3. CCM Data & Primary Intelligence Executive summary: Phosphorus ore is an irreplaceable and non-renewable resource. China is the second largest phosphorus ore reserves country in the world, following Morocco. Statistics suggest that the proven reserves of phosphorus in China are XXX billion tonnes, mainly distributed in Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan and there are XXX places to produce phosphorus ore. Though China’s phosphorus ore resource is abundant, its grade is low in general, for instance, phosphorus ore reserves with grade of 30% or above is only XXX million tonnes in China, accounting for only XXX% of the total reserves. There were XXX phosphorus ore enterprises with total output amounting to XXX tonnes in China in 2009. Top manufacturers are controlled by government and they usually involve in various phosphate industries, instead of solely exploiting ore. Phosphate fertilizer is the largest consumer of phosphorus ore in China owing to its huge demand from agriculture. In China’s phosphorus ore industry, it is a mainstream in future that giant enterprises which are engaged in production of phosphorus ore and its downstream products will integrate phosphorus ore resource and merge small enterprises. Thus, the number of phosphorus ore manufacturers will become smaller while their production scale will be larger. Character of CCM' Report: The aim of this report is to provide powerful assistance to the strategy group and the management team in making correct decision as how to penetrate the ever-increasing China market and how to catch the maximum commercial opportunities. The report is formulated independently by CCM’s professional market researchers, based on the first-hand and primary data which are analyzed by scientific methodology, confirmed with both manufacturers/end users/traders and legal authorities, and presented in a logic way. • 4. I Overview of phosphorus ore resource Phosphorus ore is an irreplaceable and non-renewable resource, with global total reserves of 47 billion tonnes and actual exploited reserves of 15 billion tonnes. Phosphorus ores resource mainly concentrates in Africa, North America, Middle East and South America, with global total output of about 160 million tonnes in 2009. Most of phosphorus with high economic value is located in Morocco, the US, and South Africa, totaling 60% of global output. …… Figure I-2 Distribution of main phosphorus ore reserves in China, million tonnes xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Note: Proven reserve means ore resource which has been measured. Technical reserve means actual economic value resource which can be exploited. Exploitable reserve means ore resource which can be exploited by current technology. Source: CCM International ...... II Phosphorus ore distribution among enterprises II-1 Supply overview China is the largest phosphorus ore production country in the world. There were 192 enterprises with total output amount to 57,654,000 tonnes in 2009.

II-2 Exploiting enterprises The number of phosphorus ore manufacturers is reducing year by year, however, the production scale of top manufacturers are becoming larger and larger. In 2009, total output of top 10 manufacturers has been 26,782,000 tonnes, compared with 15,952,000 tonnes in 2005. What’s more, 8 manufacturers have reached million-tonne production scale in terms of capacity, compared with only 5 in 2005. • 6. III Market of phosphorus ore China is the largest phosphorus ore consumer and a net-export country of phosphorus ore in the world. However, the growth rate of consumption is reducing from 2005 to 2009, because development of phosphate fertilizer, the major consumer of phosphorus, is slowing down due to industrial overcapacity. …… Figure III-1 Consumption structure of phosphorus ore in China, 2005~2009 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 0 10,000,000 20,000,000 30,000,000 40,000,000 50,000,000 60,000,000 70,000,000 tonne xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Phosphate fertilizer Y ellow phosphorus Feed grade calcium phosphate Source: CCM International …… IV Future prospect Under the context of global economic situation, China’s phosphorus will develop with the following trends, influencing by development of its downstream industries and governmental policies ......
