Phosphorus ore is an irreplaceable and non-renewable resource. China is the second largest phosphorus ore reserves country in the world, following Morocco. Though China’s phosphorus ore resource is abundant, its grade is low in general, for instance, phosphorus ore reserves with grade of 30% or above is only 1.108 million tonnes in China, accounting for only 8% of the total reserves. There were 192 phosphorus ore enterprises with total output amounting to 57,654,000 tonnes in China in 2009.
