Inc. is an independent telephone company
established 106 years ago. The ILEC network
provides telephone, high-speed Internet and
cable-TV to businesses and homes within 650
square miles of rural South Carolina. PBT
Communications, their CLEC network, operates
outside this area and competes with national
operators.
FTTP Project
Recently, PBT Telecom, Inc. began a fiber to the
premises (FTTP) project. Over the next three
years, the company plans to transfer 80 percent

power and dispersion tests to make sure PBT’s
standards are met. To date all test results
have been within specification parameters.
