Photo Courtesy of Quinnipiac University <ul><li>Richard Hanley </li></ul><ul><li>Director of the Graduate Program & assistant professor of Journalism </li></ul><ul><li>- Joined the School of Communications in 2001 after a 23-year career as a journalist </li></ul><ul><li>A 7-time Emmy nominee for his television documentaries, including national PBS works that earned Hanley an AP award </li></ul><ul><li>A frequent guest on WNPR’s political discussion program titled Politics, Burgers & Beer </li></ul><ul><li>Holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Haven & a Master’s Degree from Wesleyan University </li></ul><ul><li>Last Days of the Coliseum : produced, written & directed by Hanley himself </li></ul>

Photo Courtesy of Quinnipiac University <ul><li>Edward Alwood </li></ul><ul><li>Associate Professor of Journalism </li></ul><ul><li>Has worked for 14 years as a news reporter at several television outlets, including the Washington Bureau of CNN </li></ul><ul><li>His research specialty focuses on Journalism history and news of minorities </li></ul><ul><li>His Ph.D. dissertation received the prestigious Nafzige-White Dissertation Award from the Association of Educators in Journalism & Mass Communication . </li></ul><ul><li>Holds a Bachelor’s & Ph.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill & a Master’s Degree from the American University </li></ul><ul><li>Wrote Straight News: Gays, Lesbians, and the News Media </li></ul>

Murrow award </li></ul><ul><li>Has produced coverage of 6 hurricanes (including Katrina ), 3 paralyzing blizzards, 2005 Super Bowl , 2009 Presidential inauguration & live coverage of Reagan’s funeral </li></ul><ul><li>Holds a Bachelor’s Degree from John Hopkins University & a Master’s of Arts from the University of Virginia as well as a Master’s of Science from Syracuse University </li></ul>
