The Berlin WallYes.
West Berliners kept a running total of those East Germans who died trying to cross, in addition to those who crossed successfully. To my knowledge, this memorial still stands in Berlin.3 years ago

The Berlin WallI agree.
As a teacher, I have learned that students take much more interest in a subject if they are emotionally, as well as intellectually, engaged. For the people of Berlin, both the western and eastern portion, the wall was a tragedy. Lives were shattered and families were separated for decades.3 years ago

The Berlin WallYes! For some reason the years were erased in the transfer of the PowerPoint from my computer to the slideshare program. Thr drastic drop indicated in the third from the last column is the year 1962. I apologize for not catching the deletion myself.
I teach an International Bacalaurette social science program at my school, and the slides that you see are for this program. I use graphs and charts as a means for the more mathematically minded students to gain understanding of the issue. The questions on the slides are there to begin classroom discussions both of the specific subject and the broader implications of walls and other barriers to communication in general.3 years ago
