Healing. The user creates their own “movie” that helps channel their emotions away from the possible stresses experienced in a hospital environment (as either a patient or visitor). At the end of the experience, the user is presented with options to post to social media or email to family and friends. Familiar. Mio’s interface assets and modalities—photos, speech recognition, music—are generated with the direct help of the user’s Apple iPhone. This makes Mio’s interface instantly familiar to the user, lower any frustration associated with learning. Art. The movie will function as an “art installation”, looping throughout the day in the ArtBar environment. 2

The user’s name can also be accessed and confirmed through their Apple account.
