  • 3. Russian Flag <ul><li>Red stands for love and courage. </li></ul><ul><li>White stands for nobility. </li></ul><ul><li>Blue stands for honesty. </li></ul><ul><li>Russians have only had their national anthem for 9 years. </li></ul>
  • 4. Lakes and Rivers <ul><li>The 4 largest rivers in Russia are Lena, Ob, Volga, and Yenisei. </li></ul><ul><li>They are 4 of the largest rivers in the world as well. </li></ul><ul><li>The deepest fresh water lake in Russia is Baikal. </li></ul>

Land Environment <ul><li>The lower Ural mountains in Russia divide it from the Asian and the European regions. </li></ul><ul><li>Winters are as long as from November to march except in Siberia where the winters can be as long as nine months. </li></ul><ul><li>Urban apartments are not as big as regular homes but they are very good for a family of three or less. </li></ul><ul><li>You can find a lot of oil, natural gas, coal, diamonds and precious metals. </li></ul>

Education <ul><li>Education is optional for students between ages 6-17. </li></ul><ul><li>Russia has 33 Cyrillic letters that sound similar to America’s alphabet. </li></ul><ul><li>Some of the students in America are studying foreign languages like English, French, German, and Spanish. </li></ul>
  • 8. Sports <ul><li>Russia has many sports but Hockey is the main sport or most popular. </li></ul><ul><li>You might know a very good NHL player in hockey, his name is Alex Ovechkin. </li></ul><ul><li>They can’t do many sports because of their long winters. </li></ul>

Disease <ul><li>Russia has very good well trained doctors but sometimes the doctors don’t have the tools to save the people who are sick or injured. </li></ul><ul><li>Cancer is the most popular disease in Russia, especially lung disease because there are a lot of smokers </li></ul><ul><li>Medical is free but not as good as America’s </li></ul>

  • 11. Famous people <ul><li>In 1972-1725 peter the great was the emperor of Russia. </li></ul><ul><li>The national anthem in Russia was by Alexander Alexzandrov in 1944 and was adopted by the Russians in 2001. </li></ul><ul><li>Kavalchuk a left winger from New Jersey Devils. </li></ul>
  • 12. Transportation <ul><li>Russia has cars and they have grown a lot since the 1980’s. </li></ul><ul><li>People usually use public transportation but taxis are very expensive in Russia. </li></ul><ul><li>They don’t use bikes a lot because of their long winters. </li></ul>

Fun Facts <ul><li>Russia is also 6,601,668 square miles! </li></ul><ul><li>The distance from Moscow to Washington D.C. in America it is approximately 4887.67miles away. </li></ul><ul><li>Every 11 years there are approximately 1000 babies are born. </li></ul><ul><li>Russia’s population is 140 million and is shrinking by 0.47 percent every year. </li></ul>
