  5. 5. 3 Relative Words <ul><li>1. Arteries- Tough, elastic tubes that carry blood away from the heart. 2. Aorta- Largest artery in the body. 3. Venules- The smallest veins. </li></ul>
  6. 6. A Supporting Body System <ul><li>The Respiratory System. When the blood reaches the lungs the carbon dioxide is removed. The fresh oxygen we've breathed in through the lungs takes it's place. </li></ul>
  7. 7. 5 Terms to Learn <ul><li>1. Inhale- Filling the lungs with fresh oxygen. 2. Arterioles- Thinner arteries. 3. Heart- A muscular organ that pumps blood through the body. 4. Lungs- Respiratory organs that work together with the heart to remove carbon dioxide and replace it with oxygen. 5. Oxygen- The essential element for life. </li></ul>
