DOT study of Hell’s Kitchen Results Implemented to date • Reopening of 39th and 41st streets (reduce # of left turns at 42nd Street • Reopening of Holland Tunnel to truck traffic (reduce volume of trucks on 9th Avenue) • Feathering down of 9th Avenue, 50th to 42nd streets (50% more time for pedestrians to cross) • Protected bike lanes, shorter pedestrian crossing and exclusive crossing time from 29th to 34th streets at 9th and 8th Avenues • LPI at various locations: 41st, 37th, 38th, & 9th Av , 34th St and Dyer Av. • Bus stop moved to reduce pedestrian crossing CHEKPEDS- HKNA - September 7 2010 5 obstruction
