      • They don’t define an UnCamp…
      • so let’s try:
      • UnConference
      • An unconference is a facilitated, participant-driven conference centered around a theme or purpose. The term "unconference" has been applied, or self-applied, to a wide range of gatherings that try to avoid one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as high fees and sponsored presentations.
    • It’s still early. Yeah, um, I’ll break that down.
    • This is a free conference.
      • But you knew that already.
    • This was all planned on the fly by four working girls.
      • Not the corner. The reference desk.
      You people are real sickos.
      • It’s a participant driven event.
      • More often than not you will be:
The audience The speaker The expert The novice All in the same session.
      • In a moment, you’re going to decide on what topics you’ll be talking about.
Chime in now… Or be bored later. Don’t be shy!
      • Best electronic resources for macrame and paper mache,
      • anyone?
      Kidding… Sorta.
    • Things to know…
      • There will be a moderator (or two) in each session…
not to lead , but to guide conversation.
      • Stay on topic for your session:
      • ‘ nuff said
      • Mind your manners:
      • minimize side conversations
      • Make sure others have the floor:
      • keep an eye out for the quiet ones
      • And when you have the floor,
      • don’t get too long-winded, k?
    • Those aren’t rules.
      • They’re more like guidelines for
      • UnCamp civility.
