    • What is a “QR code”?
      • “ A QR code (abbreviation for Quick Response code) is a specific matrix barcode that is readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera telephones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded may be text, URL, or other data.”

      • It’s a little square picture that when you scan it will take you to a website, pdf, text or other information.
      • One can scan the codes with smart phones or webcams (if your computer has the right software on it).
    • How do I get my phone to scan?
      • Go to the ‘market’ on Android smart phones or iTunes store on Apple and look for a QR scanner to download.
      • Two I have used are:
      • Barcode Scanner
      • i-nigma
    • How do I use my computer as a scanner?
      • Your computer must have Adobe Air and qreader installed.
      • You also must have a webcam.
    • Here’s a YouTube video talking about using QR codes on your computer.
    • Okay…got the scanner….but how is this going to work in the classroom?
