  3. 3. Using the Library Catalogue Here is an example [2008] 4 J.P.I.L 296 This is your journal citation To use the catalogue you need to know the journal title J.P.I.L is the abbreviated title The full title is Journal of Personal Injury Law
  4. 4. Legal Abbreviations and Finding the Full Title The Cardiff Index to Abbreviations can be used to find the Full Title of a law journal or law report It can be found on my Law Subject Guide(Resources>Understanding Case Law http://libguides.mdx.ac.uk/law
  5. 5. Full Journal Title You now have the Full Title to type in the Library Catalogue
